The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the state, particularly members of the journalism profession.
In a goodwill message to commemorate the 2025 Easter celebration, the Union urged Christians to reflect deeply on the significance of the season, which marks the end of the 40-day Lenten period — a time Jesus Christ spent in fasting and spiritual preparation, enduring trials and temptations.
The NUJ emphasized the importance of embracing Christ-like qualities such as love, humility, and perseverance, which were clearly demonstrated during His suffering, trial, and crucifixion for the salvation of mankind.
The Council also encouraged the faithful to seize the opportunity of the Easter season to offer prayers for peace and stability in Ondo State and the nation at large, particularly in the face of prevailing economic and security challenges.
The statement further charged journalists to continue rendering selfless service to humanity by upholding the principles of truth, fairness, and integrity in their professional duties.
While acknowledging the harsh realities confronting the country, the Union called on Nigerians not to lose hope but to remain steadfast in prayer and faith, believing that the Easter message symbolizes hope, renewal, and triumph over adversity.
“May this Easter bring us all new opportunities, fresh starts, and joyful surprises,” the message concluded.
