Amb. Ihunwo’s Unwavering Commitment To Empowering Youths Described As New Political Discovery In Rivers State

While the various Council Chairmen in Rivers State are still struggling with the reality on ground over the Supreme Court judgement, a judicial sledge hammer and pronouncment that hit them so badly, the former Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor LGA, Hon. Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo, appears unperturbed as he had moved on and adjusted to his private life without the usual paraphernalia of government.
To him, it is not over yet as he continues to stand in defence and total solidarity for the mandate freely given to Governor Siminalayi Fubara by the Rivers people.
As a political leader driven by a burning desire to serve his Obio/Akpor people and also genuinely committed to fulfilling a number of his promises without latching to excuses of having been removed from office by the Supreme Court, the youthful and useful political titan, Amb. hijioke Ihunwo, on Saturday, 8th March, 2025, donated two new Toyota Corolla cars to the duo of Mr. Obinna Wopara and Mr. Wisdom Enyi, in appreciation of their dedication to duties as avowed believers in the SIM Political Movement.
This show of appreciating people’s efforts and fulfilling promises made even without holding any public office underscores the strong grassroots appeal, popularity, and acceptability of Amb.Chijioke Ihunwo as he made concerted efforts to redefine local government administration in Rivers State within the short period of time he held sway as the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council.
From being Rivers State Chairman of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) to South-South Zonal Chairman, Interim Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government council to an elected Executive Chairman, the energetic and workaholic Amb. Chijioke Ihunwo is evolving as he keeps building bridges across all divides, reinforcing the convictions of analysts and keen observers of Rivers politics who had earlier described him as “a new political discovery in Rivers State”.
Many are of the strongest opinion that if Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) is to conduct a fresh election today, Amb.Chijioke Ihunwo stands a better chance to dust the polls having warmed his way into the hearts of Rivers people.
