A student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), identified as Oluwaseun, has been tragically murdered by unidentified individuals.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred at Opomulero Street in Owo, within the Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Oluwaseun, a student in the Department of Mass Communication, had only recently begun his studies at the institution.
A fellow student, who spoke anonymously, revealed to The Hope Newspaper, that the deceased had spent just a few weeks on campus. He was also a course representative and an aspiring musician.
“He was a fresher who had only been on campus for about three to four weeks. In fact, he was a course representative. It is heartbreaking that we lost him in such a manner. Unfortunately, he was attacked with a machete,” the source said.
Confirming the incident, the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Samuel Ojo, described the situation as unfortunate.
