Hon. Kukuru Benjamin, a renowned PDP chieftain and political leader from Warri North Local Government Area, has hailed the selection of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as the recipient of the prestigious ThisDay Newspaper/Arise TV Network Governor of the Year Award 2024.
Describing the honor as well-deserved, Kukuru emphasized that it symbolizes a promise of greater accomplishments for Delta State.
Speaking to journalists in Warri after the award ceremony held on January 27, 2025, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos, Hon. Kukuru praised Governor Oborevwori’s visionary leadership and transformative policies under the MORE Agenda.
According to him, the Governor’s agenda, which focuses on Meaningful development, Opportunities for all, Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security, has set Delta State on a path of unprecedented progress.
“This award is a reflection of Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to good governance and his determination to improve the lives of all Deltans. It is not just recognition of past achievements but a sign of greater things to come for our state,” Hon. Kukuru stated.
He highlighted the Governor’s strides in infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment, and peacebuilding as key achievements.
Rural and urban road projects, expanded healthcare access through the Delta State Health Insurance Scheme, investment in quality education, and initiatives that empower youths and women are some of the hallmarks of the administration.
Kukuru also lauded the Governor’s humility and accessibility, noting that these traits have endeared him to the people.
“Governor Oborevwori is not just building infrastructure; he is building hope and unity. He listens to the people and ensures his policies address their needs,” he said.
The PDP leader expressed optimism about the Governor’s second year in office, predicting even more significant accomplishments.
