Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and declared his allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The switch was made known after a confidential meeting held on Wednesday evening at the Government House in Asaba.
According to his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor’s decision came after engaging with various political leaders and was motivated by a commitment to the long-term growth and stability of the state.
Oborevwori, who secured victory in the 2023 governorship election under the PDP banner, was received by high-ranking members of the APC. Political analysts are viewing the development as a significant move that could reshape the political scene ahead of the 2027 polls.
