The name AbdulGaniyu Abiodun Vinod Obasa is a household name in Agege Local Government in Lagos where a young man in his 20s has been doing what the Holy Books of both Christianity and Islamic religions give a premium attention to, that “we should love our neighbours as we love ourselves”.
AbdulGaniyu Obasa started a rewarding career in the banking and finance industry, a career that gave him comfort and all the good things in life.
His financial sector career started with the Lagos State Internal Revenue as an intern in 2014, then went to PwC, Providus Bank and Parallex Bank where he left in 2021.
The record has it that AbdulGaniyu was promoted four times in four years.
But this young man left this promising career to start a new career and life to give back to society.
Abdul-Ganiyu, a doctoral student at the prestigious Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State, is a manager of human and capital resources. He has his hands in a lot of businesses ranging from real estate, agriculture, sports, and financial services.
His philanthropic act is top-notch which has been described by many in Agege Local Government that he is a young man with a Heart of Gold.
Record shows that AbdulGaniyu has paid JAMB forms for over 1, 000 students in Agege in the last four years. He has provided jobs for youths in the local council. He also took time out to teach students at Sango Sango Secondary School and Dairy Farm Secondary School where he took the students on mentorship and live skills.
“As a banker, he would take the time off to teach the girl-child in schools in Agege after closing hours. A lot of people are craving for a girl-child, yes the boys are also going through a lot and Gani has decided to join both genders together to help in developing their talents,” Mr. Oriola Olaosebikan told a group of reporters who craved to know how AbdulGaniyu has been impacting positively residents at Agege.
AbdulGaniyu’s foray into sports is to use sports to reach out to the teeming youths in Agege. this act alone has endeared him into the heart of the future leaders of this country. Talents have been unearthed and discovered by AbdulGaniyu.

He is a core football manager and promoter of athletes. He is the CEO of Kings Sports International and founder of the popular Agege-based outfit, Vinod Football Academy.
Through Vinod FA, he has given the passage for about 20 young footballers to hone their football career in Europe and many are still coming.
He also founded the Obasa Games, a multi-sports competition meant for Agege Local Government residents to compete favourably to win laurels and prize monies.
“You will hardly know that he is the proud son of the Honourable Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa. He respects both the young and old. He comes from a good home where he is taught about discipline and the fear of God as a Muslim,” said another Agege resident, Charles Enitan.
AbdulGaniyu has a rich credential and is an Affiliate Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He also holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Aston University, Birmingham, England, and a master’s degree in accounting and finance from Aston University Birmingham England.
He is a member of many social organisations; which include the Rotary Club of Gbagada. He is currently the Chairman of the Lagos State Mini Football Association and an Executive Board Member of the Nigerian Mini Football Association.
