There was palpable tension at the weekend in the camp of the self acclaimed Ohanaeze leader, Chief Sunday Ossai, as the Nigerian Police moves to authenticate the judgment, which favoured the current President, Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene, before the Lagos High Court.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that members of the Ossai group had information that the Police at the Force CID Alagbon Annex demanded the copy of the consent judgment in their bid to investigate to know if actually it was a valid Court judgment.
Chief Ossai’s camp was said to have earlier verified the judgment before Justice L. A.M. Folami of the Lagos High Court with suit number ID/4898GCM/2018 dated 12th April, 2022 and confirmed that it was genuine but failed to vacate the judgment due to financial constraints.
Accordingly, if the Police confirm that the judgement, which was in favour of Aguene is valid, automatically Chief Ossai will be facing charges of contempt, impersonation and may likely be prosecuted under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The matter was said to have become worse over the rumoured damming reports against Ossai by his estranged Coordinator and mentor, Chief Anselm Njoku, to the Police after Ossai snubbed him and did not attend the expected peace meeting between Ossai and Aguene.
However, Chief Ossai fired back at Chief Njoku and described the peace meeting as “Gathering of Wolves and Tigers” in the publication circulated on the social media dated 18th March,2025 and signed by Chief Ossai and his secretary, Chief Robert Obasi.
It stated: “Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State has been made aware that a meeting, allegedly convened by an individual who claims to have the ears of the Presidency and the Inspector General of Police, has ended in chaos.
“Mr. Anselm Njoku, a member of Ohanaeze with unresolved issues, misled the Police authorities at Alagbon, under the leadership of DC Udofia, by promising to foster peace and unity between the insignificant faction of Ohanaeze led by Mr. Solomon Ogbonna in Lagos and Mr. Okechukwu Isiguzoro at the national level, and the recognized Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos, headed by High Chief Sunday Ossai, alongside Sen. Azuta Mbata, the worldwide President General.”
“At the so-called “peace” meeting, held in Surulere, it is disheartening and unnecessary that the self-proclaimed peacemaker resorted to hurling unprintable threats at High Chief Sunday Ossai, the President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State et al. Such behaviour is unbecoming of someone who claims leadership and only highlights a serious lack of character.”
“High Chief Sunday Ossai, as always, remains open to attending any peace meeting, as he views his role as that of a father. However, such participation must be approved by his executive members. Currently, they are studying the situation and their decisions towards peaceful resolution will be collective.”
“A true peace mediator should act with fairness rather than resort to threats and authoritarian tactics against those with differing opinions. Making statements about demolishing people’s houses or having them imprisoned is not only insensitive but also unacceptable.”
“Engr Chucks Onuegbu described the peace meeting summoned by Njoku as ‘peace talk where no trouble exists’ is rather making a mountain out of a mole hill.”

“Mr. Anselm Njoku is a mere gold digger, a political charlatan and wondering star, who wears himself the apron of a peace maker. Meanwhile, he is a green snake in green grass with a double head.”
Engr. Chucks Onuegbu may have called Chief Njoku names but he did not state if the Court judgement presented to the Police by Chief Aguene was valid or not, which may have landed Chief Ossai in trouble for parading himself as Ohanaeze president in Lagos State.
