Ose Local Government Chairman, Hon. Barr. Clement Kolapo Ojo, has taken decisive action to prevent the unauthorized removal of agricultural equipment worth billions of naira from the Leventis School of Agriculture, Idoani.
The chairman impounded a tractor from individuals who claimed to be officials from the Ondo State Ministry of Agriculture but failed to provide any form of identification to validate their claims.
Hon. Ojo, who was on a visit to assess damages and sympathize with residents affected by a recent rainstorm, was alarmed to discover the suspicious activity.
Acting swiftly, he and his team intervened, recovering several mechanized farm implements, including plows, a tractor bucket, a ridger, and other valuable equipment.
Reports indicate that at least three tractors and additional machinery had already been removed before his timely intervention.
Following the incident, Hon. Ojo proceeded to the Idoani Divisional Headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force, where he directed that the impounded tractor must not be released without his authorization and should be securely kept in police custody.
This bold move reflects the administration’s dedication to prioritizing agriculture and safeguarding public assets in Ose Local Government.
By preventing the loss of critical farming equipment, Hon. Ojo has reinforced his commitment to protecting agricultural infrastructure and ensuring resources meant for the development of the sector remain intact.
