The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has assured Corps Members that their monthly allowance will be increased to ₦77,000, with payments set to begin in March 2025.
NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu, made this announcement on Thursday during an interactive session with Corps Members at the Wuse and Garki Zonal Offices in Abuja. He reaffirmed the commitment of both the NYSC and the Federal Government to the welfare of Corps Members.
“Starting from March, you will receive Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira as your monthly allowance. The NYSC has an efficient record-keeping system, and I assure you that your payments will be made as expected. The nation and the Scheme appreciate your service,” he stated.
He encouraged Corps Members to remain dedicated and patient, highlighting the NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and instilling values such as patriotism and teamwork.
Brigadier General Nafiu also acknowledged the contributions of Corps Members and expressed gratitude for their dedication to national service.
Speaking on behalf of Corps Members in the Garki Zone, Zaka Deborah Alheri, with call number FC/24A/5831, thanked the Director General for his efforts in ensuring the allowance increase becomes a reality.
