The Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) paid a condolence visit on Monday, March 17, 2025, to the family of the late Chief Dr. E.K. Clark, OFR, CON, honoring his legacy as a statesman and political icon.
During the visit, the National Chairman of the DPV, Hon. Evang. Dr. Michael Diden, popularly known as Ejele, described Pa Clark as a formidable voice that commanded nationwide attention.
“His passing is a painful loss, not only to the people of the Niger Delta but to the entire nation. He was a man of integrity, unwavering in his commitment to justice and fairness. As members of the Delta Political Vanguard, we consider ourselves his political children, and we are here to pay our respects,” Ejele stated.
He further emphasized that Pa Clark’s contributions to Nigeria should not be forgotten, advocating for his legacy to be immortalized. According to him, the DPV would play an active role in the burial arrangements to ensure the late elder statesman receives a befitting farewell.
Highlighting Pa Clark’s influence, Ejele noted that every Governor of Delta State sought his blessing before assuming office, a testament to his status as a political pillar in the region.
Also speaking, the DPV’s Deputy National Chairman, Hon. Chief Askia Ogieh, JP, described Pa Clark as a pragmatic leader who stood firmly by the organization.
“Whenever we sought his endorsement, he never turned us down.He supported us wholeheartedly and shared invaluable wisdom that still guides us today,” Ogieh remarked.
In his remarks, Elder Prof. Collins College Clark, younger brother of the late Chief E.K. Clark, prayed for the continued success of the DPV in all its endeavors.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the family, Mrs. Rebecca Clark Okorodudu, daughter of the late Pa Clark, appreciated the DPV’s visit and support.
She noted that her father transcended partisan politics in his later years, offering guidance to politicians across different affiliations with wisdom and fairness.
“My father stood for truth until his last breath, and I am pleased that the Delta Political Vanguard, through the words of Dr. Michael Diden (Ejele), has reaffirmed his legacy,” she said.
She assured that the family would continue to uphold the values that defined Pa Clark as a father figure to many.
