The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) is set to debut a space-themed movie series on Netflix, aiming to simplify complex scientific concepts for the general public.
This initiative, announced by NASRDA’s Director General, Dr. Matthew Adepoju, seeks to bridge the gap between science, society, and entertainment.
Dr. Adepoju made this known during a courtesy visit by Nollywood veteran Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) to the agency’s headquarters in Abuja.
He highlighted the entertainment industry’s critical role in strategic communication, national development, and global recognition, emphasizing the power of storytelling in making science more accessible.
Commending RMD for his contributions to the creative industry, Dr. Adepoju stressed the importance of collaboration between various sectors to advance space exploration and position NASRDA on the global stage.
In response, RMD expressed appreciation for the warm reception, describing his visit as a homecoming.
He praised Dr. Adepoju’s leadership style, noting that true leadership inspires growth. He also assured the agency of his commitment to promoting its achievements through storytelling.
Public relations expert and pioneer managing editor of Ovation Magazine, Akinrogun Alaba Yusuf, also addressed NASRDA staff, urging them to focus on building a legacy that will leave a lasting impact on the agency and society.
He emphasized the importance of creating an environment that future generations would appreciate for its contributions to national development.
Following the discussions, Dr. Adepoju led RMD on a tour of NASRDA’s facilities. Impressed by what he saw, the Nollywood icon described the agency as a source of national pride.
