The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, has congratulated Comrade Ademola Olapade on his emergence as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the NUJ State Secretary, Olaoluwa Meshack, conveyed the felicitations of the council’s chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and its members, praising Olapade’s dedication and leadership qualities.
“Your doggedness, tenacity, and humility over the years have endeared you to workers across the state, which was reflected in the massive support you received during the election,” the statement read.
The NUJ expressed confidence in Olapade’s ability to protect the interests of workers and lead the Ondo NLC to greater heights.
The bye-election, held on Friday in Akure, saw Olapade emerge as the new labour leader, taking over the reins of the union.
The NUJ extended its best wishes to him in his new role, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the labour movement in the state.
