Mojisola Meranda has officially resigned from her position as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.
During a special plenary session on Monday, she publicly read her resignation letter, stating, “This serves as my official notice of resignation as Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.”
Meranda assumed the role on January 13, 2025, after the removal of Mudashiru Obasa, who is now expected to return as Speaker.
Although her tenure was short, lawmakers commended her leadership and efforts to maintain harmony within the Assembly.
Alongside Meranda, all principal officers who were appointed with her have also stepped down.
