Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), has officially matriculated 7,300 newly admitted students for the 2024/2025 academic session, with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, advising them to be exemplary ambassadors of the institution.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Prof. Ige emphasized the importance of discipline, integrity, and adherence to university regulations.
He warned students against engaging in cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing, and other anti-social behaviors, stressing that the institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy for such misconduct.
Highlighting the competitive nature of the admission process, the VC noted that thousands of candidates had applied, but only 7,300 were selected across ten faculties.
He reminded the students that their admission was based on merit and urged them to make the most of the opportunity by committing themselves to academic excellence.
Prof. Ige assured the students of the university’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment, including modern library facilities, well-equipped laboratories, a functional health center, and advanced ICT infrastructure.
He encouraged them to engage in extracurricular activities and student organizations to develop leadership skills and broaden their experiences beyond the classroom.
As part of his address, he urged the students to remain diligent, disciplined, and focused on their studies, reminding them that their time at AAUA would shape their future careers and overall success.
The ceremony also featured the administration of the Matriculation Oath by the Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu, officially inducting the students into the university community.
