Delta State continues to distinguish itself as a leader in economic growth and modern infrastructure under the administration of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, earning national recognition for its development strides.
The Director-General of the Delta State Bureau for Communications and Orientation, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, made this assertion while reacting to the recent award bestowed on the governor by The New Telegraph newspaper. The publication named Oborevwori the “Best Governor in Infrastructural Development,” highlighting his significant contributions to the state’s transformation.
Dr. Oghenesivbe praised the governor’s achievements across various sectors, emphasizing that Delta has become a model for durable road networks, socioeconomic advancement, and prudent governance. He cited key projects such as the construction of three major flyovers, the rapid dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba highway, and the N275 billion allocated to infrastructural development in the 2025 budget as clear indicators of Oborevwori’s commitment to advancing the state.
He further assured that the administration would continue to support small businesses while making substantial investments in education, healthcare, agriculture, transportation, and clean energy. According to him, the numerous awards received by the governor serve as a testament to his visionary leadership and put detractors and biased critics in a poor light.
Dr. Oghenesivbe urged all Deltans, regardless of political affiliation, to rally behind Governor Oborevwori in implementing his MORE agenda, assuring that by 2027, the governor would not only secure re-election but also lead the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to victory in both state and national legislative seats.
“Delta State has become a shining example of development, with national recognition affirming Governor Oborevwori’s pragmatic leadership. His administration has demonstrated prudent financial management by funding projects without resorting to excessive borrowing, while also excelling in sports, clean energy, and security enhancement,” he stated.
He called on opposition figures to abandon media propaganda and baseless criticisms, urging all stakeholders to work together in advancing Delta State beyond 2027.
