The remains of Pa Ademola Moradeyo, father of TVC News’ Ondo State correspondent, Ayodeji Moradeyo, have been laid to rest in an emotional ceremony attended by family, friends, and well-wishers.
The burial took place at his residence in the Omowumi Olorunsogo area of Ibadan, where loved ones gathered to honor his legacy.
Delivering a sermon, Pastor Oluwasegun Akinsola of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries described death as an inevitable journey for all humans. He praised the late Moradeyo as a man devoted to serving God and humanity, urging his children to uphold his values.
“Baba Ademola Moradeyo dedicated his life to God and used his resources to serve others. He was humble and hardworking. I encourage his children to remain united and continue in his footsteps,” the cleric advised.
He also reminded attendees of the importance of preparing for eternity through dedicated service to God.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Ayodeji Moradeyo described his late father as a disciplinarian with a kind heart, who ensured his children received a quality education. “My father taught us to pray without ceasing and instilled in us strong moral values,” he recalled.
Born on August 16, 1940, in Jooda Village, Oyo State, Pa Moradeyo was the son of Chief Jacob Popoola Moradeyo and Mama Deborah Alari Moradeyo.
His educational journey took him through Saint Paul Primary School, Elegbeda, Modern School, Erunmu, and later Igbogila High School in Abeokuta. He further pursued professional accounting and became a certified accountant.
His career began as a teacher at Anglican Primary School, Kutayi, before transitioning into accounting. He worked with the Nigerian Tribune, Pascal and Hudwig in Bodija, and later the Soleh Boneh Group of Companies, where he rose to the position of chief accountant before retiring in 1995 after 22 years of service.
Married to the late Mummy Alice Olaitan Moradeyo in 1969, their union was blessed with five children. A respected community leader, he served two terms as Chairman of the Omowumi Labosinde CDA and was a dedicated member of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.
Pa Ademola Moradeyo passed away on January 15 at the age of 84, leaving behind a legacy of faith, integrity, and service.
