Shamim’s wife claims that he had financial dealings with the accused woman. It is alleged that Shamim’s sister had introduced him to the woman and they had a loan-related transaction. Reportedly the woman had visited Shamim’s house just a day before demanding her money back and threatening him. However his family did not take the warning seriously.
Police have arrested the woman along with other two and seized the knife used for the crime. An investigation is underway to uncover the exact motive behind this brutal act.
The shocking nature of the attack in a public place has raised concerns about safety. The incident has sparked fear and outrage in the local community. Authorities are investigating whether this was a pre-planned murder or an act of rage.
This case highlights the dangers of unresolved financial disputes and how they can escalate into violent crimes. As police continue their investigation locals hope for swift justice.
Nayana Ksetrapal, the accused stabbed the youth repeatedly in full public view but before the locals could come to the rescue, the youth suffered multiple wounds on his chest and head. He was declared dead by the Kalna hospital. The news through sources was that the housewife had an extramarital affair with the young man. However, their relationship had been strained for some time. However, the deceased young man’s family claims that the girl was like a sister to him.
Forty-year-old Nayana maintained a healthy relation with Shameem’s family and the youth used to call her ‘Didi’. The family members told police that Nayana had intimidated Shameem yesterday at his house over some money.
According to police and local sources, Shamin had lived in another state for work for some time. However, he was currently living in his home in Kalna and was engaged in farming. There were several complaints against Shamin from locals. They accused him of creating disturbances in the village, beating up various people, and torturing others. Shamin had been arrested several times by the police before.
Nayana’s paternal home is near her in-laws’ house. Nayana runs a self-help group and also works as a cook in a school.
Residents of the village have mentioned that Nayana’s husband lives in another state for work. During her husband’s absence, Nayana became close to Shamin. Later, due to their relationship, the two’s financial transactions increased. The police suspect that their issues started because of money. Nayana would lend money to Shamin without hesitation, but Shamin could not repay it. This caused a deterioration in their relationship. The family members of the deceased have claimed that Nayana went to Shamin’s house last Tuesday and threatened to kill him. Then, on Wednesday morning, Nayana called Shamin to her paternal village in Ranibandh. There, on the road, it is alleged that Nayana threw acid on Shamin and then attacked him.
The police have stated that in connection with this incident, Nayana Kshetrapal, his father Bhajan Kshetrapal, and mother Chandana Kshetrapal have been arrested.
Preliminary investigations by the police suggest that the murder was a result of a dispute over financial transactions.
Kalna SDPO Rakesh Choudhury said, “Three people have been arrested in connection with this incident. The investigation is ongoing. A case will be registered under specific sections, and the arrested individuals will be presented in Kalna court on Thursday.”
