A farmer and a labourer have been kidnapped by unidentified gunmen at Oke Oge, a community near Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The incident took place on Saturday evening as they were returning from their farmland, located close to Akure Airport.
Confirming the abduction, the state commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, stated that security operatives had been deployed to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
“We are fully on top of the situation,” Adeleye assured. “The victims were seized on their way back from the farm, and our operatives are actively working to secure their release.”
Meanwhile, sources close to the victims’ families disclosed that the abductors have reached out, demanding a ransom of N15 million before setting them free.
