Elizade University has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining discipline and order as it welcomed new students into its academic community.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Thadius Ijadunola, issued a stern warning against anti-social behavior, emphasizing that the university upholds a zero-tolerance policy for activities such as cultism, drug abuse, examination misconduct, physical and sexual violence, indecent dressing, cyberbullying, and other vices.
While administering the matriculation oath, Professor Ijadunola made it clear that Elizade University is not a lawless institution and will enforce its regulations to maintain discipline.
He urged the new students to uphold academic integrity and warned that engaging in anti-social behaviors could lead to expulsion.
He also cautioned against entitlement in interactions with instructors and stressed that any deliberate infringement on others’ rights would attract sanctions.
The Vice-Chancellor further advised that any criminal behavior could bring students into conflict with the legal system, potentially damaging their futures and tarnishing the university’s reputation.
He urged them to be mindful of their actions, reminding them that ignorance of the rules would not be an excuse.
He encouraged students to respect all members of the university community, including teaching and non-teaching staff, as mutual respect fosters a conducive learning environment.
He assured them that adherence to university regulations would ensure they receive equal respect and dignity in return.
Professor Ijadunola also emphasized the importance of academic dedication, urging students to adopt disciplined study habits. He cited the success of the Asian Tiger countries, where daily learning practices contribute significantly to academic excellence.
He encouraged students to take advantage of the university’s resources, attend classes regularly, and avoid distractions such as social media and excessive extracurricular activities.
In addition, he warned against the dangers of self-indulgence, excessive use of electronic devices during lectures, and the obsession with quick wealth, which could derail their academic progress.
He advised them to maintain a healthy balance between studies and personal well-being, including regular exercise and adequate rest.
Addressing parents, Professor Ijadunola emphasized their role in monitoring their children’s progress and well-being, underscoring the shared responsibility between the university and families in ensuring students’ success.
He reaffirmed Elizade University’s dedication to academic excellence, innovation, and ethical standards, highlighting its status as a technology-driven institution with fully digitized teaching and learning processes.
He described the serene campus environment as comparable to prestigious Ivy League institutions, attributing this to the vision and generosity of the university’s founder, Chief Michael Ade.Ojo.
A total of 667 new students participated in the 13th matriculation ceremony, including 605 undergraduates and 62 postgraduates across various faculties.
Founded in 2012 by Chief Michael Ade.Ojo, Elizade University began operations in 2013 with 64 students across 13 programs in two faculties. Today, the institution boasts 34 accredited undergraduate programs across five faculties and 25 postgraduate programs in four faculties.

The ceremony concluded with the administration of the Matriculation Oath, officially inducting the students into the university community.
