A man identified as Oluwaseun has reportedly been killed by suspected kidnappers in Upenmen, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
According to reports, the victim was in the company of two unidentified individuals when they were attacked by the assailants on Saturday.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, revealed that Oluwaseun tried to flee the scene but was shot dead, while the other two individuals were abducted by the gunmen.
“The incident happened when Oluwaseun and two others were standing together. Unfortunately, he was shot while attempting to escape, and the other two were taken away,” the source said.
The source further disclosed that the community has been gripped by fear due to the rising cases of kidnappings in the area.
Speaking on the incident, a community stakeholder, Mr. Owadara Lanre, confirmed the attack and called on the government and security agencies to urgently address the persistent cases of abduction in Upenmen.
Attempts to reach the traditional ruler of the community for comments were unsuccessful, as his phone lines were unreachable.
