The Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), Prof. Olugbenga Ige, has congratulated the management of Mufutau Lanihun College of Education, Ibadan, for achieving the National Universities Commission (NUC) approval to run 13 full-time programmes.
This milestone was accomplished ahead of the 2024/2025 academic session, marking a significant achievement for the college, which is affiliated with AAUA.
Speaking during the college’s 6th matriculation ceremony for the 2025/2026 academic session on Saturday, January 11, 2025, Prof. Ige expressed delight over the development.
He stated, “Today’s event signifies a transformative journey for the matriculating students, filled with opportunities for growth and learning. It also marks a period of remarkable progress for the college, with the NUC’s approval to commence 13 full-time programmes.”
The Vice Chancellor commended the institution’s commitment to excellence, crediting the achievement to its strict adherence to the memorandum of understanding guiding its affiliation with AAUA.
He extended his appreciation to the Acting Executive Secretary of the NUC, the Provost of the college, Professor Abiodun Gbolagade, and the management team for their dedication.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Prof. Ige emphasized the importance of discipline and ethical conduct, cautioning against vices such as examination malpractice, cultism, sexual harassment, and indecent dressing.
He urged the students to uphold values of integrity and respect, which are vital for fostering a harmonious academic community.
The VC also encouraged the students to make the most of the resources and support systems provided by the college and its affiliate, assuring them of both institutions’ commitment to their academic success.
Prof. Ige concluded by reaffirming AAUA’s resolve to ensure an enriching educational experience for all students under its affiliation.
