Engr. Olatunji Ariyomo, FNSE, a former Chairman of the College of Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria and ex-Special Adviser on Energy to the Ondo State Government, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his administration’s approval of transformative projects for Ondo State.
Ariyomo described these developments as “iconic legacy projects,” citing the recent approval for a National Aviation College campus in Ondo State as part of a strategic move to decentralize the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, into six campuses across the country.
He also acknowledged the Federal Executive Council’s approval for the dualization of key roads passing through Ondo State, as well as the establishment of a federal teaching hospital for the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA).
He noted that these initiatives would significantly impact the quality of life in Ondo State, enhance economic growth, and improve access to critical infrastructure.
Reflecting on the unprecedented attention given to Ondo State, Ariyomo remarked, “Since the return to democratic governance in 1999, there has been no administration whose cabinet has shown this level of commitment to Ondo State. Mr. President, you make it look like Ondo State just joined the Nigerian federation!”
Ariyomo emphasized that Ondo State had long been sidelined in terms of federal presence but expressed confidence that these projects would mark a turning point. He added that President Tinubu’s bold leadership, particularly on issues like restructuring NCAT and addressing infrastructural deficits, has set a historic precedent for fairness and inclusion.
He further commended Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa on his 60th birthday, celebrating his leadership as a driving force behind the state’s newfound federal attention. Ariyomo remarked that Governor Aiyedatiwa’s synergy with President Tinubu has opened doors to significant projects and goodwill for Ondo State.
“Your Excellency, your tenure has been marked by progress and opportunities. Whatever you are doing, please continue—it is yielding remarkable results for our people,” Ariyomo said.
He concluded by expressing gratitude to both Tinubu and Aiyedatiwa for their efforts in transforming Ondo State, noting that the combination of their leadership is unlocking the state’s vast potential.
“Na who do us well we go praise,” Ariyomo humorously remarked, echoing sentiments widely shared by the people of Ondo State.
