In a touching act of compassion and generosity, the Fellowship Foundation, a humanitarian group committed to giving back to society, visited the Government Orphanage Home and Daycare in Karewa, Yola, Adamawa State, bearing an array of gift items ahead of the Christmas season.
The foundation, formed by a group of friends with a shared passion for philanthropy, has been actively engaged in charitable activities for over six years.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Steven John, a member of the foundation and Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at the Adamawa State Ministry of Health, reaffirmed their mission to positively impact the lives of the less privileged.
According to the foundation’s secretary, Mr. Anthony Okoji, the group has a long-standing tradition of embarking on end-of-year charitable initiatives.
Previous projects have included providing school uniforms, covering tuition fees, donating laptops, and supporting hospitals. This year, their focus was on spreading Christmas cheer at the Yola Orphanage Home.
The foundation donated an assortment of food and essential items, including 1kg each of rice and maize, 25 liters of palm and groundnut oil, 7 crates of eggs, 3 cartons of sachet tomatoes, 1 carton of Maggi, and baby diapers.
The orphanage’s matron, Mrs. Ahajara Abubakar, expressed her profound gratitude to the foundation for their generosity, highlighting the significance of their support.
Delivering a goodwill message, Mr. Morrisa Ceesa, a foundation member and United Nations humanitarian professional, praised the organization for its unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes.
He urged the foundation to remain steadfast in its mission and called on other individuals and organizations to emulate their example, especially during the festive season.
The Fellowship Foundation’s visit not only brought joy to the children and staff at the orphanage but also served as a reminder of the importance of giving back to those in need.
