The administration of the University of Ilorin has warned the public about the most recent scams perpetrated by con artists utilising phoney social media profiles made in the name of the vice chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN.
According to a statement released by the management in Ilorin on Thursday, individuals engaging in fraudulent activities utilise counterfeit social media platforms such as WhatsApp, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Messenger to illicitly solicit various requests from the general public, purportedly under the guise of the Vice Chancellor.
“Members of the public should, therefore, be wary of the antics of these unscrupulous elements and be adequately guided not to fall for their pranks,” the management cautioned.
